Witness the vibrant history of the Presbyterian Church in this 10-day heritage tour through Scotland. Enliven your spirit and reconnect with the teachings of the Bible as we visit remarkable religious and historic sites in Edinburgh, Saint Andrews, Dumfries, Whithorn, Border Abbeys, Stirling, Oban, Iona, Loch Lomond, and Glasgow. Itinerary
DAY 1: NEW YORK/EDINBURGH
Depart from New York to Edinburgh.
DAY 2: EDINBURGH
Arrive in Edinburgh. Half-day sightseeing tour including Palace of the Holyroodhouse, St. Giles Cathedral, and John Knox's house.
DAY 3: EDINBURGH/ST. ANDREWS/EDINBURGH
Visit Haddington, the birthplace of John Knox, then travel to St. Andrews to explore sites associated with John Knox and George Wishart. Return to Edinburgh.
DAY 4: EDINBURGH/BORDERS ABBYS/EDINBURGH
Travel South to visit Melrose Abbey, Dryburgh Abbey, and Jedburgh Abbey. Return to Edinburgh.
DAY 5: EDINBURGH/OBAN
Travel through the Trossachs Region to Stirling Castle, then continue to Oban, the unofficial capital of the West Highlands.
DAY 6: OBAN/IONA/OBAN
Ferry to Iona Island for a walking tour of Iona Abbey and Nunnery. Return to Oban via Isle of Mull.
DAY 7: OBAN/LOCH LOMOND/GLASGOW
Depart Oban for Glasgow, cruising on Loch Lomond en route. Visit St. Andrews Metropolitan Cathedral upon arrival.
DAY 8: GLASGOW
Tour Glasgow Cathedral and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Afternoon at leisure.
DAY 9: GLASGOW/WHITHORN/GLASGOW
Full-day excursion to Whithorn, visiting Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Whithorn Priory and Museum, and St. Ninian's Priory Parish Church.
DAY 10: GLASGOW/NEW YORK
Transfer to Glasgow airport for return flight to New York. Arrive home the same day.
