Itinerary
DAY 1: NEW YORK/CAIRO
Depart from New York to Cairo.
DAY 2: CAIRO
Arrival in Cairo, leisure time, dinner, and overnight stay.
DAY 3: CAIRO
Full-day sightseeing tour in Cairo, including the Egyptian Museum, Mohammed Ali Mosque, Citadel, and Khan el Khalili bazaar. Special reception and presentation by an Egyptian archaeologist in the evening.
DAY 4: CAIRO/GIZA PYRAMIDS/SPHINX/SAQQARA/CAIRO
Visit the Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, and Saqqara necropolis. Camelback ride at the Giza Pyramids. Dinner and overnight stay in Cairo.
DAY 5: CAIRO/LUXOR/NILE CRUISE
Flight to Luxor. Visit the Karnak Temple complex and Luxor Temple. Embark on a Nile cruise ship for a four-night cruise. Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple in the evening.
DAY 6: VALLEYS OF THE KINGS AND QUEENS
Explore the Valleys of the Kings and Queens, Queen Hatshepsut's temple, and the Colossi of Memnon on the west bank of the Nile.
DAY 7: EDFU/KOM OMBO
Visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu and the twin temples of Kom Ombo dedicated to Horus and Sobek.
DAY 8: ASWAN
Dock in Aswan. Optional tour to Abu Simbel. Visit the High Dam and Philae Temple. International Museum of Nubia visit. Flight back to Cairo.
DAY 9: ASWAN/PHILAE TEMPLE/CAIRO
Visit Philae Temple and the granite quarry in Aswan. Flight back to Cairo. Leisure time in the afternoon.
DAY 10: CAIRO
Transfer to Cairo airport for return flight to New York, arriving the same day.
